- The RemoteAccess Pub v1.82 - Files Listing
- ------------------------------------------
-
- The following files should appear when the Distribution Archive
- (RAP182.ARJ) is viewed with ARJ v2.41a's V command. If your copy of RAP was
- compressed with a different archiver, then this list will appear differently.
- However, the information should still be the same.
-
- Please note: This file, FILELIST.DOC, has been excluded from this list.
- The stats for FILELIST.DOC are not available at the time of distribution so it
- is impossible to specify how the file will appear in the Distribution Archive.
- Generally, the time should be no more than five minutes later than that of the
- other files.

-
- If any of these files do not appear, or the information for them differs,
- please delete your copy of RAP and contact the author for a legitimate one. If
- there are extra files, please delete them before distributing RAP.
-
- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-
- Once RAP is up and running successfully it will create the following files:
-
- USERS.RAP - The User Data file. Created in the RAP directory.
- NODEIDX.RAP - "Who's online" information for RAP. Created in the RAP Work
- Path.
- NODEIDX2.RAP - Node Usage Index. Created in the RAP Work Path.
- IPC???.BBS - Maximus IPC files. Created in the RAP Work Path when
- Maximus Support is active. Shared with the BBS.
-
- Delete USERS.RAP if you want to "reset" your User File for some reason, but
- remember that all users will lose their handles, personal actions, and RAP
- configuration. Deleting the NODEIDX?.RAP files will cause no harm to RAP
- provided that nobody is using RAP at the time of deletion.
-
- While at least one user is in RAP, the following files will be created in
- the RAP Work Path as needed. Though RAP can handle itself if these files are
- deleted while somebody is inside RAP, it is possible that some users may lose
- pieces of the conversation and/or personal pages, so it is best to leave these
- files alone.
-
- CHGIDX.RAP - RAP Message Change Index.
- MIDX???.RAP - Index Files for RAP<-->RAP Message Packets.
- NODE???.RAP - RAP<-->RAP Message Packets.
- NODE???.RA - RAP<-->RA Pages. Shared with the BBS.
- RABUSY.??? - RA node-in-use semaphore files. Shared with the BBS.
-
- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-
- Once you have installed RAP and successfully tested it, you can delete the
- following files without hampering the operation of RAP. Make sure to read the
- note beside each file before going DEL-happy.
-
- ???TO???.EXE - The Upgrade program(s). If you are not upgrading RAP or
- have already upgraded successfully then you do not need
- these files.
- DELTEMP.BAT - Batch File to delete Temporary Files. You don't need this
- if you have RAP's Work Path set to a directory other than
- the one RAP.EXE is in.
- WHATSNEW.DOC - The WhatsNew file, listing changes in recent versions.
- ????????.DOC - The Documentation. If you are really short on space and
- have a good memory. I STRONGLY reccommend keeping BETA.DOC
- around until you know RAP "inside and out".
- README.1ST - The ReadMe file, provided to get you started
- ????????.FRM - Registration/Vendor Forms. After you have printed out the
- form(s) you need then you don't need to keep these around.
- ????????.AVT - AVATAR files. Some BBS systems do not support AVATAR, and
- thus RAP will have no way of knowing that a user has AVATAR
- capability, so these files can be deleted. They can also be
- deleted if you're using a LAN, since the ANSI files are used
- when a colour monitor is detected.
- ????????.ANS - ANSI files. If you're using a LAN and none of the
- workstations that will be using RAP have colour monitors
- then you can delete these files as well. You can also
- delete these files if your BBS system does not allow users
- to turn on ANSI capability.
- ACTIONS.RAP - If, for some reason, you do not want to use RAP's actions,
- then you can delete this file. You can also delete it if
- you have your own lists from previous versions of RAP. Just
- make sure the lists have been upgraded to the proper format
- first!
